I bask in the warm crashing waves of your jealousy

Sorry for the brief, pictureless post. I'm on vacation and only dropping in to brag.

I'm at Mom and Dad's place in north-central Oklahoma. Tonight after dinner I took the scraps to the edge of the property to toss them into the field behind the house. Just as I got back there a cottontail came tearing out of the field, across the back yard, and disappeared around the house.

And right on its tail was a bobcat.

It was awesome, I had it in view forever. It was about the same size as a big tom, with huge paws and those little black and white tufts on top of its ears. And of course the bob tail, which looked kinda like a pork rind stuck on the back of the animal. Sorry, that's what it looked like. One of the really curly ones.

After a couple of seconds, the cottontail came zooming around the other side of the house, back across the yard, and back into the field at about the same place where it first emerged. And I was primed to watch the bobcat run across the yard again. And I did.

Eat it, suckers!
