Linky linky then go drinky

Some folks I should have linked to sooner, all available now on the new-and-improved link list on your right.

Presentation Zen. Yeah, do that. See if you can get some more to follow, and maybe introduce them to the idea of 'staff meeting zen'. And also 'staff meeting end'.

The Ethical Palaeontologist. Thanks for the shout-out and the TBA.* Yes, I'll be at SVP. Let's grab a beer.

Pursuing Praxis. Reliably eclectic. Plus, she devoted a whole post to the character of John Carter, Warlord of Mars. Rock.

Laelaps. Some good paleo-porn, and a post rate that leaves me flattened. Check out the post on Thylacoleo, the extinct marsupial lion, for starters.

* Darren gave me one of these, too, back around the Late Tithonian. And hit me with the "Why I Blog" meme. I suppose it's about time I stepped up to the plate. First, though, I have this lecture about proteins and nucleic acids that I'm just dying if I don't to write. Really, it'll be dazzling. Tell you all about it at 11:00 AM on Friday, room 105.

Thank you for the link and the kind words, Matt, although now I'll have to live up to your label of "good paleo-porn." I know you've said you've been sucked into a black hole of teaching, but I hope to see more of your excellent work on here soon.

I wouldn't have said it if it wasn't already true. But please feel free to outdo yourself.

I should quit whinin'. My teaching load is livable and the stuff I get to teach about is mostly pretty sweet. Beats the crap out of selling stuff, that's for sure.

Yes, beer is good! I owe Jerry Harris a beer or two in return for him generously giving me his entire Endnote library.

I will buy your beer too if you can bring me another CD of my Cetiosauriscus images (if you still have them). Justin is lame and completely forgot to give the disk to me. For three years...

Uh, geez, I probably have them around here somewhere. I will check and get back to you. I've been wondering what was holding up the Cetiosauriscus paper (there IS going to be a paper, right?). Hell, I could have published it myself by now. Which would be a little ironic, since you're the Ethical Palaeontologist.

Only joking...

Yes there is a paper, but it got pushed down the pile in the whole move-to-America-move-back-from-America-work-like-a-dog-fight-employment-tribunal-case-get-married-start-part-time-phd-while-still-holding-down-full-time-job-that-renders-me-barely-capable-of-speech-by-6pm-each-day-oh-and-then-my-laptop-died thing.

It's more written than it was this time last year. It's just difficult to get back and look at the specimen when I have literally no more holiday left. I could write at work, but I'd need half my filing cabinet with me to do that. It sucks.

I hear you. Ask me sometime about the paper on the Cloverly sauropod material from my SVP poster in 2000.

On second thought, don't.
